Landscapes of Brazil
2020 was an unusual year for all of us. But that doesn't mean we should stop exploring and searching for incredible places...
A great advantage of traveling locally is encouraging small communities, projects and also getting to know incredible places within our own home. With the right precautions, there are several places that are welcoming people and it is a great option for those who don't want to be confined or crowded.
We sought out nature and found special places in the South of Brazil and also here in Serra da Mantiqueira.
Episode 1 - Buraco do Padre and Vila Velha Park
Our road trip in search of the most incredible landscapes in Brazil begins in Rio de Janeiro, where we drive for a few hours to Santos, and then to Ponta Grossa - Paraná, for the first landscapes of our Itinerary.
Episode 2 - Southern Canyons and APARADOS DA SERRA
We now continue to Aparados da Serra in Santa Catarina, where we find incredible natural pyramids. The weather was not very helpful at first, but then we set off for Espraiado Canyon where we took the opportunity to take otherworldly images at sunrise.
Episode 3 - Ana Chata and Pedra do Baú
Nearby, in the landscapes of Serra da Mantiqueira, we have the famous Ana Chata and Pedra do Baú. For those in São Paulo, it is a perfect escape to nature on the weekend, but for those from Rio it can also be a good option if planned a little in advance.
Episode 4 - Bonsucesso Towers
We hiked to the Bonsucesso Towers in Rio de Janeiro, which is still little known to nature lovers. Even with the cold of winter, we camped near the top to catch the incredible sunrise over the mountains.
Episode 5 - Itatiaia National Park
The Itatiaia National Park is the oldest in the country and is home to incredible landscapes in the mountains of Rio de Janeiro. On this trail, we climbed up to Morro do Couto, one of the highest peaks in Brazil, in search of incredible images of Pico das Agulhas Negras, Prateleiras and the rest of the park.
Episode 6 - Waterfalls in the south of Minas Gerais
The border between Rio de Janeiro and the south of Minas Gerais has incredible waterfalls and places to explore and take landscape photos. Visconde de Mauá, Maromba and Cachoeiras do Santuário are incredible, with challenging trails, but pleasant enough to do in one day.
Episode 7 - Aiuruoca - Batuque Waterfall
Aiuruoca is an incredible place, full of mountains and waterfalls nestled in the mountains of Minas Gerais. Needless to say, it is a place rich in landscapes, trails and beautiful locations to photograph and enjoy contact with raw nature.
Episode 8 - Aiuruoca - Cabeça do Leão and Cachoeira dos Garcias
This is the second part of our trip to Aiuruoca, Minas Gerais. This time we hiked to Cabeça do Leão and passed by Cachoeira dos Garcias. These places are must-see if you want a dose of ecotourism and to take some unusual photos in Serra Mineira.
