Caçada às Auroras Austrais

E aí, pessoal! Faltam 9 dias! A gente já vai entrando no clima, vendo os mapas, se familiarizando um pouco com a viagem, sabe como é...

Estava aqui dando uma olhada nas coisas interessantes a fazer e me deparei com essa belezinha aqui:

All night animation of the Southern lights - taken close by but away from most of the lights of Tekapo Village. The exposure for this animation was longer 20 seconds for each image, f/2.8 ISO 3200 and in total 2030 images were taken, using a 15mm fisheye lens - this had the advantage of having a much wider field of view which captured a lot more detail that wasn't seen in the Church animation.

O nome desse fenômeno é Aurora Austral e ele é semelhante às famosas Auroras Boreais, mas se formam no hemisfério sul, em latitudes altas. Desnecessário dizer que estaremos ligados para ver se capturamos alguma com as nossas lentes na Nova Zelândia!

Elas são raras, mas há vários registros se vocês procurarem na rede. Algumas puderam ser vistas próximas à Aoraki/Mt. Cook, Queenstown e Invercargill, ou seja, bastante ao sul da ilha.
